BLOOMFIELD - Helen Phillips, 73, died Jan. 11, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born April 20, 1928, in Frankfort, Ill., daughter of the late Francis McCain and Beulah Strobel McCain, she was a member of Mount Pisgah Church near Bloomfield. She had been employed by Elder Manufacturing in Bloomfield and formerly owned the Hornet's Nest Restaurant in Advance.
On July 19, 1944, at Piggott, Ark., she married Orin Phillips who preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2000.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kay White of Bloomfield and Judy Kirby of Dexter; one brother, James McCain of Advance; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Bruce Phillips; and one sister, LaWanda McCain.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
Burial followed in the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Bloomfield.
