SIKESTON - Winston Wallace Carden, 75, formerly of East Prairie, died at 2:25 a.m. July 17, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born April 21, 1929, at Battle Creek, Mich., son of the late Arvil Winston and Annie Mae Mathis Carden, he was a retired towboat captain and member of the Church of Christ.
On May 22, 1966, he married Sally Ruth Carr who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Erlan Wayne and Allie Carden of Eclectic, Ala., Roger Dale Carden of East Prairie, John Rubin and Sandy Carden of Sikeston and Donald Ray Carden of Montgomery, Ala.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Jean and Jason Macon, Anita Doris Carden and Ernie Chauncey of Montgomery and Linda Sue and Henry Tylicki of Wetumpka, Ala.; one brother, Dan Carden of Eclectic; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Eugene Carden; two brothers, Paul Carden and Gale Carden; one sister, Barbara Ann Carden; and one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Aubrey Wilson officiating.
Burial followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers were: Winston Carden, Richie Carden, Jared Carden, Steve Gann, Ray Bellew and Henry Tylicki.
