SIKESTON - Police are looking for those responsible for taking "souvenir" from the National Golf Association/Hooters Golf Tournament: the huge Michelob Ultra promotional balloon and inflation blower.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the promotional balloon and blower were reported stolen from the Bootheel Golf Club on North Ingram by Jeff Ketterman, golf professional and general manager of the club.

The theft - a felony due to the value of the balloon - reportedly took place sometime between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 5:45 a.m. this morning.

The balloon, which is between 20-30 feet high, belongs to the National Golf Association and is valued at $3,000.

The balloon was at the golf club to promote the golf tournament which continues today if the weather permits. The final two rounds are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, according to Ketterman.
