BLOOMFIELD - William Lawrence Evans Jr., 74, died Dec. 28, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Jan. 7, 1927, at Fairview, son of the late William L. and Velma Mae Jackson Evans, he spent his entire life in Stoddard County. He was a retired employee of the Missouri State Highway Department, a member of the Fairview Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
On April 17, 1948, he married Geraldine Simmers who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Evans of Bloomfield; one brother, Kenneth Evans of Cypress, Texas; one sister, Carros Worley of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Evans and Jim Evans; and by two sisters, Wanda Pobst and Maurene Box.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico.
