CHAFFEE - Harley Eugene Davis, 70, died at 5:20 a.m. Nov. 20, 2001, at his home.

Born April 2, 1931, in New Madrid, son of the late James Ralston and Lola Violet Morrow Davis, he was a retired welder for Missouri Dry Docks in Cape Girardeau and member of the First Assembly of God Church in Chaffee.

On Nov. 7, 1952, he married Berneice Curtis who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Ron Davis of Chaffee; one brother, Doyle Davis of New Madrid; three sisters, Dorothy Young of Fisk and Ruth Benthal and Naomi Thatcher of New Madrid; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Charles Tennison will officiate.

Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Claude Curtis, Charley Curtis and Robert Curtis.
