DEXTER - Clara Mabel Grissom, 86, died July 14, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 2, 1917, in Evening Shade, Ark., daughter of the late Homer and Pearl Rogers McGuire, she was a member of Faith Fellowship in Dexter.

On Jan. 31, 1941, at Melbourne, Ark., she married Floyd Edmond Grissom who preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2002.

Survivors include: two sons, William Edmond Grissom of Dexter and Donald Jack Grissom of Cat Spring, Texas; one daughter, Pansy Dowden of Greenwood, Ind.; one brother, Don McGuire of Marion, Ark.; one sister, Mavis Powell of Marion, Ind.; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, H.A. McGuire and Dub McGuire and one sister, Irene Marlin.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Karen Oldham will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
