EAST PRAIRIE - Jean Davis, 73, died at 3:45 a.m. Jan. 29, 2002, at her home.
Born April 22, 1928, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Alfred and Amanda Dycus Boyd, she lived in East Prairie most of her life where she was a member of the First Christian Church.
On Sept. 21, 1982, at Caruthersville, she married Charles William Davis who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Sid Whittington of Memphis, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Billie Sue Austin of Walls, Miss.; one sister, Vera D. Gage of Charleston; one niece, Carolyn Bowers of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; and one nephew, Jim Jones Sr. of Ste. Genevieve.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Jean Whittington; and one brother, Adron Boyd.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday. Her son, the Rev. Sid Whittington and the Rev. Matthew Butrum will officiate.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Danny Russell, Joel Haddock, Andy Youngblood, Arden Dale Banks, Joe Greer and Raymond Ellis.
