SIKESTON - R.H. Sizemore long has had occasion to remember Oct. 23. It's his birthday. Now it's the birthday of his son, who was born in his home at 23 Delmar St. Sizemore, 53, has named his son R.H. Sizemore Jr.

SIKESTON - As a special tribute of American veterans, Sikeston business leaders, residents, clubs and organizations have banded together to show their support. "In honor of Veteran's Day, we have scheduled our annual parade at 10:30 a.m. Saturday beginning at the Kingsway Mall," said Blair Moran, parade chairman. After the parade there will be a ceremony in front of the old Methodist Church columns on New Madrid Street, complete with a 21-gun salute and the playing of Taps.
SIKESTON - Awards were presented during the 45th Annual Meeting of the American Cancer Society Missouri Division. Recipients include John and Ann Hux, Fred Schuerenberg, Christy Montgomery, Kay Schuerenberg, Troy Wilson, Carol Gilmore, Elizabeth Wilson and Alice and Tom Nunnelee. Elizabeth Wilson is the ACS Scott County Unit president.
