Area residents hurt in traffic accident

MALDEN - Two area residents were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bertha Jobe, 78, of Gideon, pulled from a stop sign at US 62, in the Malden City Limits, at 2:31 p.m. and into the path of a vehicle driven south by Bettye Welch, 72, of Malden.

Jobe was taken to Twin Rivers Hospital in Kennett and Welch was taken to Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
