Motorist injured in accident

EAST PRAIRIE - A Sunday morning accident resulted in moderate injuries for a Sikeston man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred at 9:58 p.m. on Highway 102, six miles south of East Prairie when a vehicle driven south by David Summers, 49, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Summers was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
