EAST PRAIRIE - Calvin Berl Britt, 78, died at 4:50 p.m. July 13, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 19, 1925, near East Prairie, son of the late Calvin B. and May Moore Britt, he lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He had lived in the St. Louis area for 30 years, where he retired from the Ford Motor Co. body repair assembly division. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a minister and affiliated with the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie since 1991.
On Dec. 20, 1947, he married Juanita Faye Ivie who preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2003.
Survivors include: four sons, Calvin Bruce Britt of Eureka, Ronnie Britt of St. Louis and Tom Britt and Lynn Britt of East Prairie; five brothers, Jack Britt and Pete Britt of Sikeston, Jerry Britt and Larry Britt of East Prairie and Corky Britt of Stockton, Calif.; two sisters, Edith Denton of Ontario, Calif., and Earline Bell of East Prairie; and six grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Couch and Kathryn Stockman.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday with Mike Johnson officiating.
Brown-Twitty American Legion Post 595 of New Madrid will conduct graveside military rites at the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jerry Britt, Larry Britt, Pete Britt, Jack Britt, Benjamin Britt and Tommy Britt.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Frank Eaves, Terry Green and Corky Britt.
