DEXTER - Leslie Eugene McElrath, 59, formerly of Malden and Sikeston, died July 12, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Nov. 1, 1944, in Malden, son of the late Raymond and Lucille House McElrath, he was a police officer for the Malden and Dexter Police Departments and had also worked for the Bloomfield Sheriff's Department. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era, he was a member of American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston and attended the Nazarene Church in Malden.

On Dec. 23, 1962, at Malden, he married Lena Thompson who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Lisa Tittle of Malden, LaDonna Fowler of Dexter and Laura Pullum of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Jessica Pattillo, Leslie Pattillo, Jennifer Fowler Henderson, Linda Fowler and Raymond Pullum; and two great-grandchildren, Jaden Henderson and Abbie Coronado.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Clay; and one brother, Robert Leon McElrath.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Military rites will be conducted at graveside services at 2 p.m. Friday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
