CHARLESTON - William G. Neal, 77, died at 9:30 a.m. July 14, 2004, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born March 23, 1927, in Clarkton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Guy Neal, he lived in Charleston most of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator before retiring and member of the First General Baptist Church in Charleston.
On Nov. 9, 2002, he married Bonnie Buttry who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: six sons, Larry Neal and Donnie Neal of Sikeston, Jerry Neal of Bertrand, Tommy Neal of Cairo, Ill., Roy Neal of South Carolina and Gary Neal of East Prairie; two daughters, Joyce Leechman of Bertrand and Shirley Eve of Illinois; two half sisters, Juanita Gregory and Jean Hastings of Sikeston; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Two half sisters, Louise Plain and Murl Garis, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the First General Baptist Church in Charleston.
Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Friday until service time at 1 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Bill Meeks, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
