SIKESTON - Ada Jean Laird Armstrong, 69, died Nov. 29, 2001, at her home.
Born Jan. 4, 1932, in New Madrid, daughter of the late Clifford and Berdie Lee Clayton Laird, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston. She retired as a customer service representative for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a volunteer at the Billy Graham Crusade.
On March 31, 1979, she married James Armstrong who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David Lee and Beverly Hale of Cape Girardeau; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Jim and Judy Armstrong of Sikeston; one sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Alan Lefler of Yukon, Okla.; and three granddaughters, Carly Armstrong of Sikeston and Melena Broglin and Page Halford of Cape Girardeau.
Two brothers, Lewis Laird and Charles Laird, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. David Jackson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
