Drug suspect arrested near school

SIKESTON -- Officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety have arrested one person on drug charges.

The arrest came Wednesday at 4:43 p.m.when officers served a search warrant at 208 Moore. An individual, whose name being withheld pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County prosecutor's office, was arrested after a quantity of marijuana was found.

Officers are also seeking an additional charge of distribution of a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of a school.
