POPLAR BLUFF - Ronald David Hankins, 54, died unexpectedly Nov. 19, 2001, at the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
Born Jan. 14, 1947, in St. Louis, son of the late Daniel Eugene and Lois Marie Waller Hankins, he was a member of the First Christian Church and the Elks Lodge. A past member of the Rod and Custom Car Club and member of various other car clubs, he was also a Boy Scout leader and worked for Briggs and Stratton.
On July 13, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, he married Phyllis Smithee who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Jay Myers and Kimberly and Darryl Belt of Springfield; one brother, Dennis Hankins of Poplar Bluff; five sisters, Donna Jackson-Miller, Peggy Dee Batten and Debbie Wilson of Sikeston, Clara Brannum of St. Louis and Mary Baker of Kansas City; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Eugene Hankins.
Friends may call from noon Saturday until service time at Cotrell Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The Rev. Mike Brazle will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
