CHICAGO - Dorothy C. Bogart Griggs, 76, formerly of Mississippi County, Mo., died at 4 a.m. April 30, 2007, at the Lincoln Park Hospital in Chicago.
Born March 22, 1931, in Charleston, Mo., to the late Albert C. and Wilma Brown Bogart, she was a member of the Charleston VFW Ladies Auxiliary and had attended the Wyatt Baptist Church. Having lived in Chicago a number of years, she was employed as a computer programmer for 30 years with Northwestern Railroad until her retirement in 1999.
On Sept. 28, 1948, she married Howard Douglas Griggs, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Griggs and Darren and Sherri Griggs of Chicago; one daughter, Dianne Griggs of Chicago; three grandchildren, Danny Griggs, Justin Griggs and Darcy Elkin of Chicago; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by: one son, Daryl Charles Griggs; and one grandson, Christopher Salas Griggs.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Earl Jones, pastor of the Southside Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Smith-Griggs Cemetery near Wyatt.
