Dorothy Young

EAST PRAIRIE - Dorothy Mae Young, 82, died at 9:05 a.m. Jan. 6, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 19, 1919, in Piggott, Ark., daughter of the late Franklin Marion and Cody Thurman Stewart, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life and attended the First Christian Church in East Prairie.

Her husband, Cecil Dodge, preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1944.

Survivors include: one son, Clarence Eugene Dodge of Perryville; three daughters, Marjorie Wheatley, Barbara Dodge and Imogene Ward of East Prairie; one sister, Mary Champ of Chicago, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Three sons, four grandchildren, two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday with Martin Lucas, officiating.

Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
