SIKESTON - Sikeston Land Bank Association stockholders held their annual meeting Thursday and elected directors. After the election, officers were chosen: Martin H. Littleton, Lilbourn; Vincent Dirnberger, Oran; Robert P. Mills, assistant vice president, Federal Land Bank of St. Louis; Hal Robertson, Sikeston manager; Mrs. Anna Mae Rogers, assistant manager; Charles N. Meier, Jackson; and George D. Doerr, Dexter.

CHAFFEE - A ground breaking ceremony for the new Chaffee City Hall was conducted Monday morning. Mayor Bob Capshaw emphasized the uniqueness of the project since no new taxes or bond issues will be needed to build the facility.

SIKESTON - The outdoor scenes set up at the First United Methodist Church will come to life each evening for eight days beginning Wednesday. During two hours each night through Dec. 18, costumed still "actors" will depict the life of Christ from birth to resurrection. This is the fourth consecutive year for the scenes which will be conducted from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church, 1307 N. Main St.


SIKESTON - The second annual Children's Christmas Cantata will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the First Christian Church, 1006 N. Main, under the direction of Sharron Lathum. This year's theme is "Christmas Around the World" and will entail a full drama, including dancing and singing in different dialects.
