SCOTT CITY - Linda Younette Pettit, 59, died at 1:55 a.m. Jan. 19, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 7, 1942, in Sikeston, daughter of the late James Young and Esther Marie Hilliker Holmes, she was a cook for Scott City Schools.
On Nov. 1, 1963, at Doe Run, she married Joseph Ireland Pettit who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2000.
Survivors include: two sons, Brian Pettit of Blue Springs and David Pettit of Scott City; one daughter, Kim Hensley of Scott City; two brothers, Jim Holmes of Paducah, Ky., and Larry Holmes of Scott City; four sisters, LaNelle Howell, LaVetra Piper, Leslie Lacey and Dianna Bollinger of Scott City; and two grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Vernon Moore; and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Williams Cemetery in Perkins with the Rev. Garry Pfanstiel officiating.
