DEXTER -- Rondle R. Penick, 92, died March 24, 2007, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
Born Jan. 12, 1915, in Brookland, Ark., son of the late John Fletcher and Leona Johnson Penick, he grew up in Bernie and moved to Hammond, Ind., in the 1940s where he worked servicing and maintaining locomotives for the railroad for 40 years. Upon retirement, he moved back to Dexter where he resided for 25 years and was a member of the Bible Missionary Church.
Survivors include: one niece, Judy Metzger of Sullivan; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Penick of Sullivan; one great-niece, Kristin Metzger; and two cousins, Jessima Walker and Junior Riddle of Dexter.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Revs. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield and David Houtz of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Smith-Stevenson Cemetery in Pyletown.
