BLOOMFIELD - Leora E. Oliver, 85, died Feb. 26, 2002, at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center in Bloomfield.
Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Canalou, daughter of the late Ruben Randolph and Sara Smith Brewington, she lived in the Canalou and Essex communities most of her life. She attended the Mount Zion-Walker General Baptist Church near Bloomfield.
On Aug. 26, 1933, in New Madrid, she married Herbert Cecil Oliver who preceded her in death on June 3, 1985.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cloetta "Corky" Razer of Essex; one sister, Dorothy Hunnicut of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Everett Brewington of Marquand; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, JoAnn Bell; one son, Johnnie Lee Oliver; and one sister, Fern Johnson.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Bob Holland and the Rev. Bill Pennington of Bloomfield will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery at Matthews.
