SIKESTON - Mrs. William Hahs will leave Sunday for Phoenix, Ariz., where she will reside with her husband, Aviation Cadet William Hahs, who is taking primary flight training at nearby Thunderbird Field.
SIKESTON - The Aviation Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, at the city administration building yesterday set Aug. 20 for the date for the third annual Aviation Day in Sikeston, Frank Ferrell, chairman, announced.

SIKESTON - Jerry W. White, 608 Carroll St., has been appointed to represent the Mid-West National Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. in this area. White was born and reared in Sikeston.
EAST PRAIRIE - Damon Deal allowed only one East Prairie hit Friday, lifting the Elks to a 2-1 Senior Babe Ruth victory over the second place team. East Prairie dropped to 4-4, half a game ahead of the Elks (4-5) and the Jaycees (3-4).

MINER - The city of Miner donated $1,000 to the Sikeston Rescue Squad Friday afternoon. The money will be used for insurance and to help pay for the squad's first truck, according to a unit member.
SIKESTON - A long summer day may cause some children to get bored but not three 8-year-olds. Sean Lee, Dawn Price and Tamara Illiff used much of a pleasant afternoon playing with their seven kittens.
MATTHEWS - The Big Prairie Jaycees will again present a Main Street Barbecue starting at 11 a.m. July 16 with proceeds going to Jaycee projects. Barbecue sandwiches will be served all day; whole butts pork by the pound.
