Born Feb. 3, 1930, in Cleveland, Ark., daughter of the late William Thomas and Zella Mae Bryant Brents, she had been a waitress and cook at the Fastlane Deli and was a member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
Her husband, Adolph Kowell, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Edward Brents of Rockford, Ill.; two brothers, Roy Brents of Dexter and Bill Brents of Atkins, Ark.; three sisters, Faye Mullin of Morrilton, Ark., Dean Marcum of Sikeston, and Dorothy King of Mansfield; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Randy Thomas, pastor of the Morehouse First General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
