Born July 17, 1944, in Canalou to the late Carl William Kirtley and Fern Brewington Kirtley Johnson, he was a forklift operator for Aqua Glass Corporation in Savannah and was a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: one son, Carl Kirtley of Escondido, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Roy McLevain of Henderson, Ky.; two brothers, Delbert Kirtley of Sikeston and Randy Johnson of Canalou; one sister, Shirley Johnson Malloy of Essex, Mo.; and one granddaughter, Shelby McLevain of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James R. Johnson; three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Matthews Cemetery at Matthews, Mo., with the Rev. James Malloy of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex officiating.
Burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be: Jerry Dishman, J.C. Dishman, Matthew Dishman, Caleb Dishman, Jacob Davis, Seth Graves, A.J. Vanover and Chris Terry.
