CHARLESTON - Mississippi County commissioners made adjustments to drainage district tax rates during Thursday's county commission meeting.
The rate for Ditch 14 was raised from 12 cents to 14 cents per $100 assessed value while the rates on Ditches 29 and 30 were lowered from 10 to 5 cents and from 8 cents to zero respectively.
In other county business, commissioners said they are looking to fill the Charleston and East Prairie positions on the county Senior Citizen Advisory Board. "Every other place is represented," said Jim Blumenberg, presiding commissioner.
Commissioners also discussed consulting with engineers to determine weight limits on recently-placed rail car bridges and the net weight effect of using concrete decks on them.
