SIKESTON - The high hopes for the Sikeston baseball team have been dimmed a bit after the club lost its second consecutive game. In their first two games, 23 of the team's 42 outs have come by strikeout, an unusually high total for a Sikeston club.

SIKESTON - Chapter HB of PEO Sisterhood recently conducted a raffle drawing for a weekend trip to the Ritz Carlton in St. Louis. The winner was Marilyn Barkett. PEO is a philanthropic, educational organization for women. Proceeds will fund scholarships for area women.
SIKESTON - Officers at the Bank of Sikeston are anxious to let customers know Monday's name change won't mean a change in quality of service. After 105 years under the same name, the facility will be called Ameri-First Bank. No new owners, no new employees, just a new title, said president Rick Adams.
