SIKESTON -- The Semo Motor Speedway is preparing for one of its largest events on July 13th, featuring the Mara Midgets, Midwest Outlaw Lightening Sprints, NMMA Micro Sprints, Rams Mini Stocks, and the famous Legend cars.
Special guest for the night will be Busch Grand National and Winston Cup Driver Mike Wallace. Wallace will compete earlier in the day at the Chicagoland Speedway in the Busch Grand National race and then fly to Sikeston where he will spend the evening with the fans at Semo Motor Speedway.
"This is one of our largest events of the year at the speedway, we feel that we have an excellent show for all the fans that evening and some of the best racing in the region," said Jerry Wolsey, general manager of the speedway.
Semo will host the 2002 U.S. Outlaw Mini Sprint Association national championships in late september and this makes the second visit to the speedway in a matter of a few weeks for the Midwest Auto Racing Association Midgets.
"We are honored to have the Mara Midgets return for the second time. They put on an outstanding show the last time they were here and the fans loved it", Wolsey said.
