MORLEY - The Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster recovery center at the E-911 Center in Morley will be closing Saturday.
A deadline for individuals to file for federal assistance with flood damage has not yet been set, but FEMA officials anticipate setting one soon. "The sooner they apply for help, the sooner we can help them," said Lloyd Barningham, public information officer for FEMA.
Scott County residents seeking individual assistance from FEMA do not need to appear in person at the E-911 center in Morley as reported in Wednesday's Standard Democrat article on Scott County, according to Barningham.
Registering by calling 1-800-621-FEMA is sufficient, he said, "although if they still feel they have a need to speak directly with a FEMA representative...then they may go to the disaster recovery center for assistance."
Residents who appear in person may also receive assistance with the paperwork for Small Business Administration low-interest loans.
