BERTRAND - An early morning fire in a two-story building on Beech Street brought calls from the Bertrand Volunteer Fire Department for mutual aid assistance to the Charleston and Sikeston Fire Departments. Fire personnel were summoned at 1:07 a.m. and the Sikeston department was called shortly afterward to provide an aerial truck. The structure was reportedly owned by David Hurley.
