Minnie Vinson

CHARLESTON - Minnie M. Vinson, 91, died at 2:10 a.m. Feb. 6, 2002, at the Bertrand Nursing Facility.

Born Nov. 9, 1910, in Marquand, daughter of the late Alfred Stokes and Dica Ellen Francis Green, she was a correctional supervisor with the California Rehabilitation Center for 26 years and moved to Charleston in 1988. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Charleston.

In 1938, she married Donald Wesley Vinson who preceded her in death in 1961.

Survivors include: two sons, Donald Lee Vinson and Robert Dean Vinson of Fullerton, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and David Teeters of Charleston; five grandchildren, including Karen Hitchcock of Charleston; and nine great-grandchildren.

Two brothers also preceded her in death.

Services and burial are scheduled for Monday at Pomona, Calif.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of local arrangements.
