Officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, SEMO Drug Task Force and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms conducted the round-up. Other agencies involved in the operation included the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Scott County Sheriff's office, Mississippi County Sheriff's office and the Missouri National Guard helicopter.
The operation began at 5:30 a.m. with a breakfast briefing and concluded at approximately 11 a.m.
DPS Director Drew Juden said the operation was extremely successful. "The cooperation by all agencies was tremendous and everyone deserves a lot of credit in removing this blight from our community," Juden said.
Thirteen people were arrested on warrants in the city of Sikeston, stemming from narcotics and weapon investigations. Five others were arrested in other jurisdictions, also stemming from these charges. Warrants not served were for individuals named who were not located during the search.
During the round-up, an additional seven people were located and arrested for various warrants and misdemeanor charges. The names of two individuals are being withheld, pending formal charges after contraband was located while searching for wanted persons in the round-up.
Percy Baker, 31, was arrested on federal weapons charges. No bond is set for him.
Charged with distribution of a controlled substance are Henry Banks 22, bond, $250,000; Travis Blackmon, 23 (two counts), bond, $175,000; Jimmy Clemons, 31, bond, $250,000; Richard Green, 47, bond, $50,000; Duone Harriston, 25 (two counts), bond, $200,000; Joe Lee Hatchett, 42, bond, $250,000; Kenneth Hill, 28 (six counts), bond, $500,000; Elgin Hunt, 18 (two counts), bond, $200,000; Michael Jelks, 31, bond, $125,000; Xavier Ray, 21, bond, $50,000; Tammy Romo, 42, bond, $100,000; Anthony S. Robinson, 27 (two counts), bond, $150,000; Lascotto Simpson, 18, bond, $75,000; Travis Williamson, 24 (two counts), bond, $150,000.
Raymond Bassinger, 24, and Jimmy Garner, 37, were charged with methamphetamine products. Bond for each is $5,000. Charged with possession of a controlled substance is John Blackmon, 21, and his bond is $15,000.
Other arrests included: Rebecca Bonner, 20, contempt of court in Sikeston with cash bond set at $285.50. Cordarow Ranson, 17, New Madrid County probation violation and no bond is set in this case. Kim Cole, 19, Scott County warrant for failure to return rented property, bond, $2,500; Stanley Perkins, 61, Scott County warrant for passing bad check/insufficient funds, bond, $5,000; and William Ranson, 18, backfine warrant in Sikeston, bond, $9,150.
A search warrant was also served at 730 Matthews where several drug paraphernalia items were seized.
