DEXTER - Nina Arnold, 87, died March 19, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.
Born Nov. 19, 1915, at Aid, daughter of the late Albert Andrew and Nettie Blagg Anderson, she was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter. A long time business woman and active in the community, she was past president of the Soroptimist Club, Business and Professional Women's Club, local and regional chapter of the PTA, past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 311 and was instrumental in the development of the Little Miss Dexter Contest and other organizations. She lived in Dexter for 77 years.
On Feb. 14, 1951, at Malvern, Ark., she married Claude Arnold who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1995.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Charles Luetje of Olathe, Kan.; one stepdaughter, Claudine Reak of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Opal Montgomery of Thayer; one brother, James "Pot" Anderson of Dexter; and three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Anderson; and two infant sisters.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Vaughn Wright will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
