SIKESTON - E.R. Putnam Jr. who had been employed at the Sikeston Production Credit Association for the past three and a half years, is now employed by the Dan McCoy Seed Co.

MATTHEWS - At a recent meeting of the Matthews Community Club, special attention was called to one of the coming highlights of the Easter season which will take place in Matthews for the second consecutive year - the Annual Easter Parade for preschool age children. The event is planned April 5 at 7 p.m.

SIKESTON - Today has been proclaimed Single Parents Day in Sikeston by Mayor Marlon Thompson. Attending the proclamation signing were Darice Bowers, Nerissa Ruiz, Sabrina Ruiz, Parents Without Partners Publicity Chairman Joan Bowers, President Teresa Wilburn, John Koenig and Danese Branson, program and education director for the organization. An open house is set for 2 to 4 p.m. today at Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church.

SIKESTON - Newly elected officers of the Scott County University of Missouri Extension Council were sworn in recently by the Scott County Presiding Commissioner Durward Dover. The new officers are Randal Friend, secretary; Robin Burger, chairman; Mildred Mason, treasurer; and Phil Hubbert, vice chairman.

SIKESTON - Fire Base Sikeston will sponsor a free community concert at 7 p.m. Friday at the Sikeston Field House, featuring Britt Small and Festival. The Sikeston Junior High Jazz Band will perform on stage with the band during the evening concert and will perform its own numbers during intermission.
