FLUSHING, Mich. - Theodore and Dorothy Martin will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary as they renew their wedding vows on Saturday.
The couple was married Sept. 11, 1952, in a small ceremony in the original First United Methodist Church chapel in Sikeston, Mo.
Mrs. Martin was born in Matthews, Mo., and grew up in Sikeston. She retired from Flushing Community Schools where she was a paraprofessional and ran the high school career center.
Martin was raised in Flint and his father's relatives live in Dexter, Mo. He served with the Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a teacher, coach and administrator for Westwood Heights Schools in Flint before retiring.
Their children and spouses are Laura and Earl Horton of Flushing, Linda Martin-Seng and Michael Seng of Lathrup Village, Brad and Mary Martin of Clarkston and Lydia and Paul DuCharme of Grand Blanc. Their grandchildren are Zach Martin, Emily and Amanda Martin, Rachel and Ethan Seng, and Jacob and Joshua DuCharme.
The couple will renew their vows in a wedding ceremony Saturday in Clarkston.
