SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Warren of Sikeston are parents of a boy. Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Henderson of Sikeston are parents of a daughter.

SIKESTON - Lynn Twitty, superintendent of schools and president of the Missouri Association of School and Administrators, will deliver the keynote address to the Missouri Association of Health and Physical Education teachers in Columbia.

SIKESTON - Sikeston Department of Public Safety Fire Division personnel were called to the scene of a fire early Monday morning at the residence of Nita Morris, 223 Greer St. The fire was reported about 9:45 and was brought under control within minutes of the fire department's arrival. The fire resulted in heavy smoke, water and fire damage to the upstairs and heavy smoke and water damage to the first floor, according to authorities. No injuries were reported.

SIKESTON - Homer Jackson and Delbert Curry will lead the Sikeston Park Board throughout this year as the newly elected chairmen and vice chairman. The unanimous election of the duo came during Monday's regular meeting.

DEXTER - The Stoddard County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of four sets of steps taken from Budget Mobile Homes on Highway 60 in Dexter. The steps were taken sometime over the weekend.

SIKESTON - Entries are being sought for the annual Cargill Farm Safety Essay Contest with area students asked to help promote safety on the farm.
