BENTON - Wedding vows were exchanged in a June 22, 2002, ceremony by Jaclyn Dawn Welter and Paul Jackson Scott Jr. at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton. The Rev. Normand Varone performed the ceremony. Mass servers were Nicholas Welter and Aaron Welter of Benton and Cindy Jansen, cousin of the bride, served as lector.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Cheryl Welter of Benton and the bridegroom is the son of Paul and Patsy Scott of Yellville, Ark.

Organist Joe Wayne Spalding of Scott City and vocalists Jimmy Simmons and Joanie Kerby of Benton provided music for the ceremony.

Jamie Welter served her sister as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Amy Shanks of Oak Park, Ill., Jennifer Welter of St. Charles and Heather VanGennip of Jackson. Renee Ribolzi and Rachel Ribolzi of Columbia, Ill., were flower girls.

Patrick Scott of Springdale, Ark., attended his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Michael Tierney of Jackson, Richard Reeves of Benton and Derek Baugher of Cape Girardeau. Ring bearer was Adam Schaefer of Oran, cousin of the bride and Derek Welter of New Hamburg and Kevin Pfaff of St. Charles served as ushers.

Samantha Welter of Benton and Sandra Scott of Springdale were candlelighters. Guest book attendants were Jessica Pool and Meredith Grissom, who also handed programs to guests.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the St. Denis Parish Center, where dinner was served by Andrea Kluesner, Janessa Burford, Ashley Seyer, Leslie Seyer and Trey Simmons. Cake servers were Willa Welter and Pam Welter of Benton.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted June 21 by the bridegroom's parents at the American Legion Hall in Benton.

The new Mrs. Scott graduated in May 2002 from Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau with a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education. She is a first grade teacher at Matthews Elementary School in Sikeston.

Scott, who graduated in 1997 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, is a spectrochemical and physical testing laboratory supervisor for Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid.

Mr. and Mrs. Scott are residing in Sikeston.
