NEW MADRID -- William "Bill" L. Lilly, 97, died Sept. 27, 2002, at his daughter's home in Steele.
Born Sept. 15, 1905, in Tamms, Ill., he was a lifelong resident of New Madrid and a commercial fisherman in New Madrid.
He was married to Frances Lilly who preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1981.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kathy Strait of Steele; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, one stepdaughter and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery near New Madrid.
