ORAN -- Amy Renee McBride and Andrew James Blattel were married in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony June 12, 2004, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church before the Rev. John Harth and the Rev. David Coon.
Mass servers were Nikki and John Chambers of Chaffee, cousins of the bridegroom. Lectors were Ruth Ann Miller of Jackson, aunt of the bride and Edie Eeftink of Scott City and Sherry Dunseith of Moberly, aunts of the bridegroom. Gift bearers were Sandy Ross of Jackson and Chris Mier of Scott City, godparents of the bride; and Lori Buttrey of Council Grove and Gerald Blattel of Chaffee, godparents of the bridegroom. Serving as Eucharistic ministers were Patricia Schlosser of Scott City, grandmother of the bridegroom and Tony Mier of Jackson, uncle of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Barry and Susie McBride of Vanduser and parents of the bridegroom are Darrel and Joan Blattel of Scott City.
Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalists Theon Schlosser of Scott City, grandfather of the bridegroom, Krista Keesee and Douglas Moore of Kelso and musician Dana Lynch of Oran.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a two-piece white strapless gown featuring a gathered waistline, corset back and a full skirt with a cathedral train. The gown was accented with swarovski crystals, seed beads and bugle beads, embellishing the bustline, waistline and hem line. Created by her mother, the bride's waist-length bridal veil was edged in white satin and was secured with a crystal tiara.
Alyshia McClendon of Sikeston attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Lange of Cape Girardeau, friend of the couple; Christy Pinnell of Sikeston, cousin of the bride; Rebecca Matthews of Cape Girardeau, friend of the couple; and Amanda McCormick of Jackson, Katie Ressel of Kelso and Deana McCormick of Jackson, cousins of the bridegroom. Flower girls were Emily Pinnell and Erin Pinnell of Sikeston, daughters of Tim and Christy Pinnell and cousins of the bride.
Attending the bridegroom as best man was his brother, Ryan Blattel of Scott City. Groomsmen were Thomas Buttrey of Council Grove Kan., cousin of the bridegroom; John Murrah of New Hamburg, Jarret Seiler of Benton, Brian Hulshof of Kelso and Brandon Blattel of Chaffee, friends of the couple; and Anthony Ressel of Kelso, cousin of the bridegroom. Ring bearer was Jacob Lovel of Sikeston, son of Alyshia and Josh McClendon and Jason and Holly Lovel and nephew of the bride.
Ushers were Kevin Mier of Scott City and Kenny Stone of Morley, cousins of the bride, Philip Buttrey of Council Grove and James Chambers of Chaffee, cousins of the bridegroom.
Program attendants were Stephen Eeftink of Scott City and Alex Ressel of Kelso, cousins of the bridegroom.
The dinner and dance reception was held at the Kelso Knights of Columbus Hall. Party coordinators were Marge Blattel of Chaffee and Teresa Hastings of Cape Girardeau, aunts of the bride.
Parents of the bridegroom hosted a rehearsal dinner at their home on June 11.
A bridal shower was hosted in honor of the couple by Katie Ressel, Deana McCormick and Amanda McCormick on April 17 at the Kelso City Hall.
The couple was also guests of honor for an April 24 bridal shower at Susie's Bake Shoppe in Sikeston, hosted by Alyshia McClendon and Christy Pinnell.
Following a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia in the West Indies, Mr. and Mrs. Blattel are making their home in Cape Girardeau.
