Local teen dies in crash

BENTON - A Sikeston teen sustained fatal injuries in a one-vehicle accident Friday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred at 8:50 p.m. on I-55 at Benton when the southbound vehicle driven by 16-year-old Savannah Seabaugh of Scott City ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a concrete pillar. She was seriously injured and airlifted to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

A passenger, Jeffrey Kallbreier, was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott County Coroner Scott Amick. The body was taken to Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
