Mid-America lands East Prairie guard

Thursday, May 15, 2003

OKLAHOMA CITY -- East Prairie's Matt Boyer signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Mid-America Bible College on Wednesday.

Mid-America won the NCAA Division II National Championship this season and is consistently ranked among the top Division II schools in the nation.

"I believe Matt is perfect for our program and that our program is perfect for Matt," said Mid-America coach Willie Holley. "We are looking for a guard who can come in and play right away."

Mid-America graduated two seniors, both guards, off the national championship team.

"Matt's aggressive play, along with his ability to shoot the 3-pointer and his floor vision, will make him fun to watch," added Holley.

As a senior at East Prairie, Boyer averaged 17 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Mid-America Bible College is located in Oklahoma City and is a four-year fully accredited college.

They are members of the Interstate Collegiate Conference, which is made up of schools from Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
