ORAN - Tony J. Scheeter, 60, died at 10:07 p.m. June 29, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 24 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late Raymond John and Martha Clara Glueck Scheeter, he was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and St. Joseph Sodality in Oran and Local Union 574 in Cape Girardeau. He was a forklift operator for Super Value in Scott City, a truck driver and substitute rural carrier for the Benton, Cape Girardeau and Oran post offices.
On June 25, 1994, he married Becki Dalton who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Alden Scheeter of Sikeston and John Scheeter of Oran; one daughter, Holly Pound of Benton; one stepson, Brian Dalton of Chaffee; one stepdaughter, Christi Stevens of Chaffee; two brothers, Pete Scheeter of Garden City, Kan., and Kent Scheeter of Oran; one sister, Kay Urhahn of Oran; and three grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, where parish prayers at 6 p.m. will be followed by a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. Marty Blakey officiating.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating, assisted by the Rev. Marty Blakey.
Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Kent Scheeter, Eric Urhahn, Derek Urhahn and Earl Ray Stevens.
