Born June 18, 1931, in Commerce, Mo., son of the late Jesse Pillar and Bendia Melinda Graham Culbertson, he retired in 1993 as plant foreman for Jefferson-Smurfit in Evansville, after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Cypress Baptist Church in Booneville.
On Dec. 1, 1951, at Piggott, Ark., he married Mary Ellen Finley who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and daughter-in-law, Jesse P. and Beth Culbertson Jr. of Brown Deere, Wis., Gary L. and Becky Culbertson of Booneville and Keith and Maria Culbertson of Rogers, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Bob Dolanski of Barling, Ark., and Sharron and Wayne Phillips of Tamms, Ill.; one brother, Eugene Culbertson of Fruitland, Mo.; one sister, Thelma Marshall of Zion, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Daryl Jessie, pastor of Cypress Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
