EAST PRAIRIE -- Emily Susan Moore and John Wayne Tatum Jr. were married in a 5 p.m. ceremony March 1, 2003, at the First General Baptist Church in East Prairie. The Rev. Earnest Brown performed the ceremony.
The new Mrs. Tatum is the daughter of Lester and Mary Moore of East Prairie. She is the granddaughter of Dola Benson and Maxine Prince of East Prairie, Howard and Imogene Benson of Sikeston and the late Anderson Moore.
Her husband is the son of Susan and Bud Thurman of East Prairie and Melissa and John Tatum of Anniston. His grandparents are Doris and Obrey Cogdill of East Prairie and Mr. and Mrs. John Tatum of Anniston and he is the great-grandson of Mae Kersey of East Prairie and the late Orville Kersey.
Pianist Cindy Bright and soloist Karen Kersey provided music for the occasion.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Leslie Moreland of Anniston as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kersten Abner of Sikeston and Tara Tatum of East Prairie and flower girl was Chanie Moreland.
Ronnie Moreland of Anniston served the bridegroom as best man. Groomsmen were Teddy Hutchason of East Prairie and Morris Branam of Anniston and ring bearer was Levi Branam. Ushers were Ben Hall and Tyler Branam.
Necie Hall of East Prairie attended the guest book and candlelighters were Nitisha Brewer and Madeline Branam.
The reception was held at the church following the ceremony where guests were served by Nancy Gamble, Sharon Moore and Geneva Givens, aunts of the bride. A wedding celebration was held the same evening at the Charleston Bingo Hall, hosted by friends of the couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Tatum are residing in Anniston.
