MOREHOUSE -- Thomas E. Alford, 80, died at 9:45 p.m. May 12, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born June 30, 1922, in Macrae, Ark., to the late Thomas Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Sanders Alford, he was a press operator for Potlatch for 22 years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was of the Baptist belief.
On March 2, 1946, in Sikeston, he married Viola McIntyre who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Linda Ellison of Sikeston, Mary Crone of Morley and Barbara Evans of Matthews; one brother, Marion Alford of Port Arthur, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of St. Louis and Ola Mae Hutchinson of Russellville, Ark.; and nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one sister, three half brothers and three half sisters.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Arliss McIntyre, Chuck McIntyre, Ronnie McIntyre, Bud McIntyre, William Smith and Danny Wilson.
