ORAN -- Tyler Cookson drove in the go-ahead run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, leading Oran to a 4-3 victory over Chaffee on Thursday.
With the score tied 3-3, Ryne Wood reached base with a one-out double. Trey Graviett flew out to center for the second out, then Cookson laced a 1-0 pitch to the gap in right center to score Wood and end the game.
"It was a very well-played game," said Chaffee coach Brian Horrell. "It was a very tight ballgame all the way down to the very last pitch. I was very pleased with our effort."
Trey Graviett picked up the win. In seven innings of work, he allowed no earned runs on five hits and two walks. He recorded eight strikeouts.
The Eagles saw home runs from Nathan Seyer and Tyler Nelson. Garrett Roslen and Wood both provided doubles in the win.

"We can take a lot of positives out of this," said Horrell. "We had a lot of opportunities during the game, we just couldn't cash in with the big hit."
