SIKESTON - Betty Gayle Brock, 65, formerly of Charleston, passed away at 9:29 a.m. May 12, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 21, 1937, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late E. Ralph and Nola Wade Williams, she had attended Wesley United Methodist Church. A 1954 graduate of Charleston High School, she attended Murray State University in Murray, Ky. She had been a bookkeeper for Collins Music Co. and retired as bookkeeper for Plaza Tire Co.
On Nov. 6, 1959, in Sikeston, she married James M. Brock who survives of the home. They celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage and made happy memories.
Survivors in addition to her husband include: her son, Ed Taylor of Kirkland, Wash.; her two daughters, Cindy Tureaud of Clermont, Fla., and Judy Fick of Springfield; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Pauline Ward, who helped care for her in her last months.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gene Williams.
Betty will always be remembered as fun loving and full of life, and she greatly enjoyed the company of her many friends.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Dr. Clayton L. Smith, pastor of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Prindle, Fred Happe, Harley Davis, Jim Thompson, Butch Dirnberger and Bill Unger.
