CHARLESTON - Lloyd Hugo Rider Jr., 49, died at 9 a.m. May 8, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 23, 1953, in Granite City, Ill., son of the late Lloyd Hugo and Malinda Lucille Squires Rider Sr., he was a member of the Restored Hope Apostolic Church of Charleston. He moved to Charleston in 1995, where he was an officer with the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department. He graduated in 2000 from the SEMO Law Enforcement Academy and was then a corrections officer with the Southeast Missouri Correctional Facility in Charleston. He was also a desk clerk for the Charleston Inn Motel and was a member of the Mississippi County Sheriff's Reserve.
On Nov. 6, 1978, he married Carolyn Bailey who survives of the home.
Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Marie Kohne of Charleston; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Monday until service time at 11 a.m. at McMikle Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Breeland, pastor of Restored Hope Apostolic Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Carl Counts, Larry Duke, Brandon Caid, Ken Story, Charlie Marcum and Keith Moore.
