Dexter to play for fifth place

MALDEN -- Dexter earned the right to play for the fifth place title of the SEMO Conference Tournament on Monday, beating Kelly 6-2 and New Madrid County Central 6-0 in the consolation bracket.

The Bearcats will face Notre Dame today at 2:30 p.m. Notre Dame reached the fifth place game by beating Scott City 13-1 and Chaffee 5-2 on Monday.

In the championship bracket of the tournament, Cape Central defeated Jackson on Monday 7-6.

Today, Poplar Bluff will play Jackson at 5 p.m. for third place in the tournament.

That game will be followed by the championship matchup between Sikeston and Cape Central at 7:30 p.m.
