Mary Apolinar

ALMA, Kan. - Mary Apolinar, 95, died May 4, 2003, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Born April 19, 1908, in Mexico, daughter of the late Juan and Gregoria Rodriguez, she was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Alma.

On June 23, 1928, in Topeka, she married Sebastian Apolinar who preceded her in death on May 9, 1988.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ed Shepherd of Sikeston and Margaret and Tom Zupan of Borrego Springs, Calif.; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Anita Slaughter, also preceded her in death.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Friday at the R.J. Evans-Gentry Funeral Home in Alma, where a rosary prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. The family will greet friends following the rosary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. John Pilcher as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
